The Rare Van Gogh Print Hidden from the World in Wartime Iran

The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art holds Iran's only Van Gogh, a rare 1882 lithograph titled "At Eternity's Gate," which passed through the hands of US Vice President Nelson Rockefeller before being purchased by the Shah of Iran's wife in 1975 for $65,000.

The print has spent much of its time locked in the museum's storeroom since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and now faces renewed concern as recent military strikes in Tehran have hit just one kilometre from the museum.
